What Is A Newsletter Worth?
What is a RAKScraps newsletter worth to a member? I value them so much that I have saved every copy that has been posted on the website. Now some people may think that is a little strange but when you hear what all is in a copy of our newsletters, you will understand.

At first glance you find a colorful copy of words arranged in a way to entice the reader into the space. The new format makes it easy to read even for beginners with the contents listed on the top. This is convenient in case you want to look at a specific area before reading it through. Those listings in the Table of Contents are hotlinks, by the way, click on them - and zoom - you go right to that section!
Section one describes what’s in the news at RAKscraps. It lets the members know about special thank you’s, the Mega Kit, and any recent changes. This keeps everyone updated on current opportunities, Special Events and will be where new RAKScraps Features will be announced.
Section two let’s us know what is happening in our digital scrapbooking community by listing special teasers for some of the many current challenges and gives some of them a little extra highlight when a new twist is added.
Section three now lists the Featured Digital Scrapbooking Challenge which showcases a new oppportunity to scrap outside your normal comfort zone. Often there are topics we want to make layouts for but don’t know what direction to go-this is just the place to find that guidance.
Section four showcases The Designer Highlight Sponsors. Designer Sponsors offer our Members a free gift in the Newsletter, and then there’s a challenge to use that kit to create layouts and enter them in the Designer’s Gallery. There’s a Special Prize awarded at random for one lucky participant! They also have their products reviewed by members of our Sponsor Creative Team. We get a glimpse of what their featured kits look like and how versatile they can be. We have a special area in the gallery to upload your layouts using the designer’s work.
Section five now comprised of the RAKfile Challenge, which varies from month to month with exciting new changes for everyone to participate in.
Section six gives us new and exciting ways to explore various software programs with new digital scrapbooking tutorials. To me this is one of the most exciting parts of the newsletter as it teaches me how to do new techniques. It is always easy to understand even for someone new to digital scrapbooking.
Section seven includes a spotlight of one of the RAKScraps’ team member. Sometimes it is confusing as to what the various teams do and it’s a great way to know them better. The interview is someone who works on forum in the various areas that make RAKScraps a wonderful digital scrapbooking community. We ask them several questions to get to know them a little better. It’s interesting to match the real person with the persona of the nickname.
Section eight includes a member from our scrapbooking community. We try to choose members who are active, have interesting layouts in the gallery, and leave uplifting comments to fellow members. They are then the Featured Scraplift Challenge Member.
Finally section nine gives us a sneak peak at next month’s highlights and usually the designers who are to sponsor it. Did you realize you can find archived copies of the newsletters on the home page? Just go to the right side of the home page and click on newsletter and then follow the links to previous issues.
